Purchase Partners’ electronic VMI SOLUTION is the industry leader in integrated supply solutions and the backbone for streamlined, computerized business-to-business supply chain communication.  Our VMI Solution streamlines the process of merging data, such as on-hand inventory, customer forecasts and historical demand, into a suggested replenishment quantity. In addition, this same technology infuses your current forecasts into our material requirements planning, driving the inventories we stock in our own warehouses.

AUTOMATED BIN STOCKING  BSID Bins

Purchase Partners establishes a VMI Bin Stocking Contract within our inventory management system that is unique to each customer, utilizing BSID identification numbers that assign multi-function data to single bar codes.

Based on inventory replenishment data collected on barcode scanners, our system in a single scan will record the plant location, point of use location, shelving location, the internal part numbers for the customer and Purchase Partners, standard replenishment quantity, estimated annual usage, contract number and unit price, and other specified instructions required to create a bin stock order.

After scanning all stocking locations, in one click the audited inventory counts are electronically transmitted to Purchase Partners, wirelessly. Once transmitted, our VMI SOLUTION will intelligently integrate the current inventory audit, customer forecast and historical usage, generating pick tickets within seconds to our warehouses to replenish on-hand inventories, providing shipment quantities for the “perfect fit” replenishment order.

Inventory is shipped and stocked in central stocking locations within each manufacturing plant.

INPLANT STORE

For our customers that want Purchase Partners to have an onsite presence within their manufacturing facility; an inplant store where Purchase Partners creates a physical gated area where PP products are stored and dispensed by PP staff before the customer takes ownership.

POINT OF USE

Point-of-use management audits and replenishes inventory at the point of use location on the manufacturing line.  Like parts may have multiple point-of-use locations within the same plant facility.

The technology driving replenishment is the same used in "Automated Bin Stocking", but in place of storing product in a central stocking location that inventory pickers pull stock from and move to the manufacturing line, inventory is managed and stocked directly at the point of consumption.

KAN BAN

Kanban inventory management is a visual system that uses visual cues, such as empty stocking bins, or inventory cards to indicate it’s time to replace and reorder materials or products.

It reflects real-time demand; reducing waste and excess stock and operates on a pull-based philosophy, where inventory is driven by actual customer demand rather than forecasts.

CONSIGNMENT

Consignment is a supply chain model where Purchase Partners retains ownership of goods until they are consumed by our customer, reducing their financial risk and cost of ownership. It is used by customers that need assistance in eliminating the unwanted impact of slow inventory turns.  When inventory is consumed, it triggers payment for goods.
